The shortage of skilled workers is clearly noticeable in various sectors such as healthcare, daycare centers, the catering industry or the IT sector. According to the German Economic Institute, between July 2021 and July 2022, a total of 537,923 positions for qualified workers could not be filled across all professions because there were no suitably qualified job seekers available. Some companies are forced to restrict their business. This problem will have an even greater impact in the coming years and solutions must be found to ensure future growth, prosperity and competitiveness for Germany as a business location.
